Payroll
The recurring (usually monthly) process of calculating gross pay, deductions, taxes and social contributions for every employee and disbursing the resulting net amounts.

Wage statement
The per-employee, per-period document that breaks down gross pay, deductions, taxes, social contributions and net pay.
Employment lifecycle

Employer of Record (EOR)
A third party that legally employs workers on behalf of another company, taking on payroll, taxes, benefits and statutory compliance.

Single source of truth
An architectural principle that for any given piece of data — an employee record, an IBAN, a contract — exactly one system is treated as authoritative.

Two-way sync
An integration pattern in which two systems exchange data in both directions: changes made in system A propagate to system B, and changes made in system B propagate back to system A.

Termination flow
The set of HR, IT, finance and payroll actions triggered when an employee leaves: final pay calculation, settlement of unused leave, statutory deregistrations, document handover, account revocation.

Sick leave
A period during which an employee is unable to work for medical reasons, usually evidenced by a doctor's certificate.
